Work Experience

IT Intern - Pinnacle Actuarial Resources, Inc. (July 2014 - August 2014)

As an IT Intern with Pinnacle Actuarial Resources I worked on a variety of projects ranging from writing a program to gather information on a twitter account into an excel sheet to creating an updated network diagram of the companies local network. This gave me a broad range of projects I might see in an IT career.

Student Manager - Illinois State University (August 2012 - May 2013)

After working as a Help Desk Technician for two years, I was promoted to the Student Manager position. Along with my Help Desk Technician responsibilities, as Manager I also made sure the other Help Desk Technicians were properly trained and stayed on task during their work hours. I also worked to ensure that the Help Desk was operating smoothly and that the customers seeking help were satisfied with the job that was being done.

Help Desk Technician - Illinois State University (August 2010 - August 2012)

For two school years, I worked at the University High School Help Desk. As a Help Desk Technician I was available to students and faculty for all types of computer help. Every student in my high school had a netbook computer and there was a lot of wear and tear on the computers and a lot of problems to be solved. I became proficient at troubleshooting and hands-on computer repair. Challenges I helped with ranged from repairing a computer a student who set his computer on fire, to repairing a computer that a student spilled milk on three times, to helping someone figure out that if their computer wasn’t turning on, they might need to charge it.

During the summers I worked at the school to repair and refurbish 600 student computers. The team would access each computer, catalog hardware damage and needed repairs. Then the team would take care of repairing any damage and replacing any necessary parts to the computers, as well as any necessary software updates and configurations.

Sound Technician - Wesley United Methodist Church (June 2009 - Present)

I work as a sound technician every week for regular services and at weddings or other special events at the church throughout the year. My responsibilities for this position included setting up for bands, singers, and speakers, running the soundboard during services and events, and making sure everything was properly stored after an event.
